HANOVER, N.H. — Tim McIntee has been hired as an assistant coach for the Dartmouth men’s lacrosse team, Director of Athletics Harry Sheehy and head coach Andy Towers announced Monday. McIntee spent the last 15 seasons as head coach of the men’s lacrosse team at Manhattan College in Riverdale, N.Y.

Tim has over 15 years of head coaching experience at the DI level, was one of the best players in the history of the sport, and is as charismatic as they come. This is a great day for the men’s lacrosse program at Dartmouth.”
During his time with Manhattan College, McIntee was at the forefront of the successful turnaround and development of the school’s men’s lacrosse program. The all-time winningest coach in program history, he compiled a 93-136 record with the Jaspers.
Having inherited a fledgling program in the fall of 1997, McIntee wasted no time in establishing the Jaspers as a perennial contender in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). Under his guidance, the team qualified for the four-team MAAC Tournament seven times (2000, 2002, 2004-05 and 2008-10).
McIntee’s work came to complete fruition in 2002, as his squad accomplished a feat never before reached by any other Manhattan team – the Jaspers went undefeated (9-0) in conference play en route to capturing the program’s first-ever MAAC Championship and automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. For his efforts, McIntee was named MAAC Coach of the Year, the second such honor of his career. The 11 victories that season were the most in team history.
That summer, McIntee was selected as a coach for Team Ireland at the 2002 World Games, where he served as offensive coordinator and man-up coach. The Irish team went 6-2 with key victories over Korea, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Italy.
McIntee joined Manhattan after a stellar playing and coaching career on the collegiate, professional and international levels. While earning his bachelor of arts degree from CW Post College/LIU, McIntee was a three-time NCAA All-American and a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse as a midfielder. He went on to play with Team USA in the 1990 World Championships. Additionally, he starred in the professional ranks as a member and captain of the New York Saints of the Major Indoor Lacrosse League. In seven seasons with the Saints (1990-97), McIntee recorded 97 points (46 goals, 51 assists), which ranks him among the all-time leading scorers in franchise history.
Prior to Manhattan, McIntee was an assistant coach and offensive coordinator at St. John’s University from 1993-96. He also coached the boys’ lacrosse team at Syosset High School in 1996 and 1997, and coached East Islip High School from 1994-1997.
Among McIntee’s athletic credentials is induction into the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2012. He is also a member of the CW Post Hall of Fame for both lacrosse and football.
