Dick’s Sporting Goods Teams Up with the Hounds

Charlotte, N.C. (March 14, 2012) – Charlotte Lacrosse LLC announced today that Dick’s Sporting Goods has signed on as an Official Sponsor and Community Partner of the Charlotte Hounds.

Now with over 450 stores, Dick’s Sporting Goods offers the finest quality products at competitive prices, backed by the best service anywhere. Dick Stack, founder of Dick’s Sporting Goods, believed that sports play a vital role in teaching children fundamental values like a strong work ethic, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. And he understood that supporting the organizations that make youth sports possible is the best way to promote those values. Today, that legacy continues. This year through its Community Youth Sports Program, Dick’s Sporting Goods will donate thousands of coach’s equipment kits to youth sports organizations across select markets – reaching over a million athletes.

“One of our primary goals is to grow the sport of lacrosse by supporting existing and new youth leagues and programs in the area. They share the same enthusiasm and commitment to youth sports. We are extremely excited to partner with Dick’s Sporting Goods,” said Wade Leaphart, Hounds Director of Sales and Marketing.

As part of the new relationship, Dick’s will sponsor the Hounds Ball Boy/Girl Program and an interactive on-field skills promotion during all seven (7) home games. Dick’s is also teaming up with the Hounds on their youth lacrosse and community outreach programs via exclusive discounts and offers for fans, interactive games, awareness and promotional support.

“We are very excited to team up with the Hounds. We have a real passion for sports, particularly at the youth sports level,” said Christina Burwell, Community Marketing Manager – North Carolina. “Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the country and we’re proud to offer the finest quality products at competitive prices, backed by the best service anywhere. Working with the Hounds to provide exclusive offers and promotions for the fans and community, while playing a role in the growth of the sport, is fun and rewarding.”
