DU Men’s Lacrosse: Jamie Faus Injury Update

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – University of Denver sophomore goalkeeper Jamie Faus (Lakeville, Conn.) will miss the Pioneers’ game against No. 3/4 Cornell today with a lower leg injury. The game is slated to start at 2 p.m. MT from James Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y.

Faus sustained an injury prior to the start of the third overtime period in the Pioneers’ 10-9 loss to No. 7/8 Notre Dame on Sunday. His condition will not be released until further evaluation by doctors in Denver.

“We are obviously upset about Jamie’s injury,” said head coach Bill Tierney. “He will be seen by our doctors when we arrive back in Denver on Wednesday. Jamie led us to a great season in 2011 and was well on his way to another very successful year in 2012. Our team is full of great young men however, and as always, someone will step up to fill the void.”

A live blog will be available for fans to follow, as well as Live Stats, all on DenverPioneers.com. The game will also be available on Verizon Fios, tape delayed in New Jersey, Long Island and Washington, DC.
