Duke’s John Danowski Joins Top 205 Lacrosse Directors

DENVER, Colo. – Three-time NCAA Championship head coach John Danowski of the Duke University Blue Devils has joined the Directors of Top 205 Lacrosse, leading up to the Top 205 Fall Showcase on Nov. 22 and 23. Danowski joins Bill Tierney (University of Denver Head Coach), Tony Seaman (Denver Outlaws General Manager) and Dave Cottle (Chesapeake Bayhawks Head Coach) as the Directors of the nation’s longest-running recruiting camp.

“I am honored to be joining a great group of coaches and friends as a director for Top 205 Lacrosse,” Danowski said. “Top 205 Lacrosse is one of the top recruiting camps in the nation, that consistently places some of the nation’s top un-known talent with top programs. It is a great way for high school student-athletes to be seen and get in front of coaches from Division I, II and III programs when they may not have had the chance prior.”

Cemented as one of the top coaches in college lacrosse, Danowski has helped lead the Duke University men’s lacrosse team to unprecedented success during his seven-year tenure. Danowski was introduced as Duke’s eighth head men’s lacrosse coach on July 21, 2006 and quickly led the Blue Devils to some of the most successful lacrosse seasons in school history and to three NCAA Championships in five seasons.

“We are very excited having Duke lacrosse coach John Danowski join the Top 205 Lacrosse Team,” Seaman said. “His reputation and success over the past decade speaks for itself. I am looking forward to having him join us at the Top 205 Fall Showcase November 22-23 at Towson University and at all of our Top 205 Lacrosse Camps in 2015.”

He has compiled an impressive 347–171 record over his career that has included stops at CW Post and Hofstra.

“For Top 205, the longest running recruiting camp in the lacrosse world, to add John Danowski, currently most successful coach in the game, to our staff makes us very excited about our future,” Tierney said. “Not only is John a great coach and ambassador of our game, but a long-time personal friend, who along with Tony Seaman and Dave Cottle has been most influential in being a mentor to me in my career. We are thankful to Coach Danowski for joining our ranks.”
