Easton Lacrosse Signs Casey Powell, Brett Queener, and Michael Evans

VAN NUYS, Calif. (October 12, 2010) – Easton Lacrosse today announced the signing of Casey Powell, Brett Queener and Michael Evans to multi-year endorsement contracts. The players will be involved in developing new products for the company and creating exclusive content for EastonLacrosse.com, as well as participating in camps, clinics and other events for Easton.

“Easton Lacrosse is dedicated to performance, innovation and passion – the same principles that drive the other Easton-Bell brands,” said Chris Zimmerman, president of Easton Sports. “We are honored to bring the best of innovation and tradition, along with today’s leading technology, to America’s fastest growing field sport and a lineup of remarkable athletes.”

A true ambassador and legend of the game, Casey Powell has an impressive list of accomplishments that includes being a two-time member of the US National Team, four National Lacrosse League (NLL) and Major League Lacrosse (MLL) All-Star selections, along with being a four-time All-American, two-time National Player of the Year and National Champion at Syracuse. Powell recently became the first ever US-born player to win the MVP of the NLL in 2010.

An innovative, versatile and talented player, Brett Queener is the only player to play two different positions in the NLL and MLL. A charismatic competitor, Queener was named ‘Personality of the Year’ by Inside Lacrosse in 2008 and 2009, when he led his teams to Steinfeld Cup Championships two years in a row.

Completing the hat trick is lock-down defensemen Michael Evans whose punishing one-on-one defense has made him one of the most feared and respected players in the game. Evans was a three-time All-American and 2009 William C. Schmeisser Award winner as the top defenseman in the country at Johns Hopkins University. He also led the school to the national championship in 2007. Evans was an MLL All Star in his first full year as a pro, and recently was selected to the All Pro team and helped lead the Chesapeake Bayhawks to the MLL Championship in 2010.

“There is no better trio to join our team than Casey, with his legendary game and leadership; Brett, with his one-of-a-kind style and versatility; and Michael, with his imposing and dominant defensive game,” said Doug Appleton, general manager of Easton Lacrosse. “Aligning our brand with these three distinguished athletes immediately positions our lacrosse division as a powerhouse player that will continue to grow.”
