ESPN Networks to Present 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse Championship
Top Two Seeds Compete Sunday on ESPNU
ESPN2, ESPNU and WatchESPN will provide exclusive coverage of the 2014 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship beginning with first-round games on Saturday, May 10, and concluding with the national title game on Monday, May 26. The top two seeds in the championship – No. 1 Duke and No. 2 Syracuse – take to the field for first-round action on ESPNU onSunday, May 11, at 5:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., respectively.
ESPN’s top lacrosse commentating team will again be in position throughout the NCAA Championship, led by veteran play-by-play voice Eamon McAnaney, along with analyst Quint Kessenich and sideline reporter/analyst Paul Carcaterra. The trio will call all four quarterfinal games on Saturday, March 17, from Hempstead, N.Y. and Sunday, March 18, from Newark, Del., in addition to the national semifinals on Saturday, May 24, and the title game from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md.
Joining ESPN’s early-round coverage are analysts Ryan Boyle (three-time Princeton All-American), Mark Dixon (Johns Hopkins midfielder), Ryan Flanagan (North Carolina defenseman), Stephen McElduff (North Carolina defenseman), Jamie Munro (Brown All-American) and Matt Ward (Tewaaraton trophy winner and Virginia attackman). Calling game action will be Joe Beninati, Mike Corey, Booker Corrigan and Ben Holden.
Anish Shroff will host ESPN’s studio coverage throughout the championship. He will be joined by Kessenich at ESPNU studios in Charlotte, N.C., for the first-round games, followed by Dixon for the quarterfinals and Flanagan for the national semifinals. The studio duo of Shroff and Boyle will move to Baltimore for full analysis of the title game on Monday.
The National Championship will also air on ESPNU via the Spider Cam feed – an alternate viewing fan experience that in the past was integrated into the traditional telecast.
For the first time, the 16-team field featured two play-in games (May 7) yielding from 10 automatic and eight at-large bids.

The women’s championship weekend opens Friday, May 23, with the national semifinals shown on ESPN3, followed by the title game on Sunday, May 25, airing on ESPNU and WatchESPN. Beninati will have the call of the game with analyst Courtney Martinez-Connor (Maryland All-American) and reporter Dixon.
