EyeBlack to Produce Official Products for Yeardley Love, One Love Foundation

Rockville, Md. – EyeBlack, the company that started a sports revolution by combining logos, phrases and bible verses with EyeBlack, announced today that they have reached a three-year agreement with the One Love Foundation to serve as an official manufacturer of products bearing the organization’s logo and brand. The One Love Foundation was created in 2010 in honor of former University of Virginia women’s lacrosse player, Yeardley Love.

As an official partner, EyeBlack will design custom One Love Foundation products that will exemplify Yeardley’s spirit, personality and enthusiasm for life on and off the lacrosse field. Products being designed include EyeBlack’s signature under the eye glare reducing patches with the One Love Foundation logo and colors, as well as helmet and lacrosse stick decals athletes can use to show their support for the foundation.

“We look forward to helping the One Love Foundation and honoring the spirit Yeardley exemplified on and off the field through the products we are creating,” said Peter Beveridge, president and founder of EyeBlack. “At EyeBlack, part of our mission is to assist organizations in the community. We support the One Love Foundation’s mission because they will be inspiring young people to become leaders and impactful in the community.”

EyeBlack will create One Love Foundation retail sets to be sold at www.EyeBlack.com, with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting the foundation. In addition, EyeBlack will be creating discounted products the One Love Foundation will sell on their Web site, www.JoinOneLove.org for fundraising and awareness initiatives.

“The One Love Foundation is excited and proud to form a partnership with EyeBlack,” said Sharon Love, Yeardley’s mother. “The decals provide a simple and unique way for the public to remember Yeardley and show their support for all she exemplified. To show our continued support for youth success, the Foundation will use 100% of the proceeds from EyeBlack sales to support inner city sports and education programs.”

The One Love Foundation’s goal is to keep the spirit and passions of Yeardley Love alive in others through strength of character and service. In doing so, the Foundation will encourage and develop in children and young adults the qualities that Yeardley exemplified such as humility, sportsmanship, kindness and service.

EyeBlack partners with a variety of causes and organizations including those in support of Breast Cancer, Alzheimer’s, and Autism, as well as teams who have had athletes unexpectedly pass away or be seriously injured. The company believes their products and brand are built around a sense of team and community and pursues partnering with not only athletic associations, such as the Baseball Factory, but also organizations such as the One Love Foundation.

unfortunately there is one massive problem: the NCAA has banned these types of eyeblack. While it’s great at the HS and Youth level and will raise cash, the NCAA ban will damper the ability to sell…. Having said that: I’m getting a set…

how much of eyeblack sales go to one love? To use that image and likeness, it should be a pretty substantial amount..and not profit immensely of the hearts of those who buy it.
