Game Photos: Georgetown Prep Rallies to Top Gonzaga in OT

This weekend the Georgetown Prep Little Hoyas visited Gonzaga Purple Eagles in a battle of the top two teams in Washington, DC. Gonzaga was in control most of the game, but the Hoyas proved to be relentless.

The Little Hoyas spark came when Gonzaga goalie Timmy Farrell, making one of his 11 saves, had a string break on his stick, and when he went to clear the ball, the ball flew backward into his own net. This goal would drive Prep’s momentum tying the game with 1:33 left on the clock. After trailing 6-3 well into the fourth quarter G’Town Prep rallied back to win 7-6 in overtime. View Game Winner…

Gonzaga has several decals on the back of the Purple helmet. One being a decal in support of “Heroes” which is an organization against childhood cancer. They wore a mix of 2010 STX Assault gloves and 2011 Brine King IIIs. Prep wore Nike Vapor gloves. Both teams wore Nike unis, STX arm guards, Nike cleats and Cascade Pro7 helmets. Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
