GOLDEN GOAL TOURNAMENT PARK ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION

Fort Ann, N.Y. – January 20, 2011 – The Golden GoalTM Tournament Park, a world class youth sports venue in Fort Anne, N.Y., today announced that it has been acquired by a group of investors led by former Golden Goal lacrosse director, Dale Weingarten. Along with its new acquisition, Golden Goal is continuing to grow with the addition of a ninth playing field. Soon to be recognized as the Crown Jewel of youth facilities, Golden Goal provides training and competitive play in an Olympic-style atmosphere for all skill levels of youth teams.

“We are very excited about the park’s true potential and working with the community to make it a summer destination for youth athletes and their families,” said Dale Weingarten, park director and operator of Golden Goal.” “Our immediate plans include retaining our existing staff, hiring additional facilities personnel and bringing more coaches onboard.”

Engineers and architects are developing plans for the future phases of park development as demand dictates and team participation grows. With the final completion of the first phase, Golden Goal can accommodate up to 60 teams per week on just 70 acres of the 200-acre site.

At Golden Goal, the focus is on providing a competitive environment (an Olympic-style experience) for serious participants from club level travel teams to elite players. The experience benefits teams of all skill levels as the emphasis is on “being your best” and not necessarily on “being the best.” Teams, coaches, guest referees and families participate together in Golden Goal’s Opening and Closing Ceremonies. The tournaments conclude with the Championship game and the awarding of the prestigious Gold Goal Cup. Teams from across the country, as well as international teams will make the trip to Fort Ann for this experience.

Hosting clinics and tournaments eight months out of the year, the facility offers a customized tournament format for players at all skill levels and ages, including:

Golden Goal will continue to offer unique Olympic style lacrosse and soccer events in 2011 including: Casey Powell’s Lacrosse Camps, the New York Red Bulls Regional Development School (RDS) and the A.C. Milan Continental Cup, an international youth soccer tournament.
