I don’t understand how trying to make our world better involves making people lazier. The device aims at making our lives simpler, but it’ll eventually lead to people shooting laser beams at cars with their eyes. Good bye two-handed groundballs. Gattaca is officially here. We are doomed.

And, now a word from Google:

We believe technology should work for you — to be there when you need it and get out of your way when you don’t.

A team within our Google[x] group started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment.

Follow along with us at http://g.co/projectglass as we share some of our ideas and stories. We’d love to hear yours, too. What would you like to see from Project Glass?

Here’s a more in-depth article about the device.

Not interested. Call me old school, but I’d prefer sticking to being an old fashioned DO IT YOURSELF human being, besides, all this stuff is ‘cool’ but what happens if shit hits the fan in some form or fashion and it all breaks down and stops working. People today think humanity has somehow changed just because of the advent of all this technology. But if it all shits out on us one day, then we’ll be no different than the thousands of generations of techno-less humans that came before us. With the exception of plastics and alloy metals and all that. But yeah, I’d agree and say humanity is pretty much doomed. Fatty’s from WALL-E here we come.

I think It’s a creative idea to start. And unlike the idea of leaving us on our asses, I think it would help more to actually get us out more to see things, even if it is fueled by the sense of competition of getting a better picture than your friend on a social network website. All I gotta say is, cool idea. Right?
