CAMBRIDGE, Mass.Joe Lang has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week after helping the Harvard men’s lacrosse team to a pair of wins last week at home.

Lang turned in nine points for the week, scoring seven goals and adding two assists in triumphs over Quinnipiac and Penn State. He recorded his first career hat trick versus the Bobcats with three goals and two assists, and contributed a team-high four goals against the Nittany Lions.

For good measure, the freshman tacked on two goals in last night’s 20-9 victory at No. 20/20 Holy Cross.

Lang has scored at least one goal in all five games to start his career, helping the Crimson to a 4-1 record and a spot in both the USILA Coaches Poll (10) and Cascade/Maverik Media Poll (13). He currently ranks third on the team in points (15) and is second in goals (11).

Harvard returns to action Saturday, March 14 as it opens Ivy League play at Brown. Face off is scheduled for 3 p.m. live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
