Hershey Haymakers Sign Ginny Capicchioni

HERSHEY, PA (October 28, 2011)- The Hershey Haymakers announced today that they have signed on Ginny Capicchioni of Sacred Heart as their goalie for the 2012 season.

Capicchioni was a three-time Northeast Conference Goalie of the Year at Sacred Heart. She made her first start for Team USA at the 2010 Bowhunter Cup and is the first woman to sign with a men’s professional team and play for the NLL.

“The last 5 to 6 years there has been no harder working American Player than Ginny. In constructing a super-competitive team we started by getting the best goalkeeper we know- and its Ginny. The entire organization stands behind her due to a work ethic second to none”.

Capicchioni has starred at some of the top indoor lacrosse tournaments in the world. She is a member of the 2011 US Men’s Indoor Team, who won the Bronze Medal in Prague this spring and was named MVP of the Swedish Invitational Box Lacrosse Tournament.

“I am very blessed two have the opportunity to play for the Haymakers,” said Capicchioni. “Integrity, commitment, and accountability start at the top. With Ted Glynn and Hunter Francis, the Haymakers will be a first class organization. Our goal every season is to win championships, so I am ready to get to work.”

The Haymakers will begin play at Giant Center in January.
