Hofstra Lacrosse Team Steps Foot into New Locker Room

This past December Hofstra University decided to drop their football team citing a general lack of interest and support from students and alumni, along with the desire to redirect funds toward enhancing the school’s academic programs (NYDailyNews). It appears some good might have came out of it. What once was the old football locker room is now the new lacrosse hang out.

The locker room is equipped with fine wooden lockers, carpeted floor and a large leather couch with four accompanying leather chairs. Not too shabby, courtesy Jwatz5.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.

Huge recruiting tool, a locker room is part of the overall lacrosse team/school environment…look for Hofstra to start pulling in some more big high school talent in the coming seasons. The locker room was a huge reason why I chose my college team…that and the final four appearances.
