Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.

I would just like to add to this and say that this actually does not show anything about the illegal use of marijuana.  “HUF” the brand’s name does not actually refer to the smoking of marijuana because huffing is when someone inhales glue, paint, and other household products, so the name does not in fact imply to the use of marijuana.  I would also like to say that the image of the leaf is actually the part of the plant that is used in other things like rope and other hemp related items and is not actually the part of the plant that is smoked.  Im not saying that this is a good thing to put on this site but it is a proven fact that lacrosse players are among the highest users of marijuana in any sport, thats a true fact, look it up. So in a sense this does have something to do with lacrosse players in weird way.  I do not think that these should be up here but I understand why these are on this site.

No, it’s not harming me, but it may influence the kids who come to this site.

I am grown up. I’m guessing you don’t have kids yet…

I agree.  While I’m in favor of decriminalizing marijuana, and I firmly believe in the virtues of hemp as a textile, I find this brand highly inappropriate.  As it stands, pot is illegal in all 50 states and this brand’s NAME and PACKAGING proudly reference its illegal use.
As responsible members of the lax community -and as a site that is a favorite among many minors – we should not be promoting the use of illegal substances.  This is irresponsible at best and damning at worst.
Not to mention that these socks have absolutely NOTHING to do with lacrosse.  As you state, this is a street wear company.

“it is a proven fact that lacrosse players are among the highest users of marijuana in any sport, thats a true fact”
I don’t doubt that, but that is a TERRIBLE reason to include them on this site.  I’m sure a lot of laxers look at porn.  Would it be appropriate to have XXX videos here as well?
Including them simply because they are mid-calf socks and laxers wear mid-calf socks is a stretch.
Look, it would be different if the growth and consumption of marijuana was legal in the US.  It is not even legal to grow hemp for textile use in the US.  And we all know that very few kids would buy these socks to show their support of hemp as a renewable resource. They buy these socks because there is a goddamn pot leaf on them.

I agree with everything you say.  I also dont think these socks will sell well either.  I mean I doubt many laxers are gonna show up to practice rocking pot leaf socks mostly because their coaches wont allow it and I hope their parents wouldnt either.  Unless their team is the Amsterdam Stoners, which is doubtful.
