Illinois Wearing Pink Uniforms for Breast Cancer

CollegeLax gave us a heads up on the Fighting Illini jerseys for April. The team will be donning Pink and White uniforms to raise awareness for Breast Cancer.

“This is easily our biggest weekend of games and is almost a best of the Midwest as it features three of the best teams in the area,” said Illinois Head Coach Phil Dodson. “This is also University of Illinois’ Mom’s Weekend which means that the population on campus will theoretically double.”

Illinois got the idea from Michigan State who had a similar event last year.

The uniforms are designed by Pro Athletics. Signature ribbons in support of breast Cancer fill the repeating pattern on the uni.

Illinois will officially wear these against Minnesota-Duluth on April 8 and Michigan State on April 10. Learn more about this cause at CollegeLax.us.
