Jacksonville Bullies Lacrosse Team Signs First Four Players

November, 2011 – The Jacksonville Bullies announced that they have signed their first four players for the 2012 season. Bobby Stockton of Jacksonville University, Thomas Compitello and Adam Rand of Stony Brook, and Scott Perri of Drexel University have all signed to play for the Bullies after being drafted to the team on October 12th.

Compitello, the 2011 captain at Stony Brook, had his breakout season in 2009 and emerged as a top playmaker for the Seawolves. He consistently led the team in assists and was named to the 2011 All-American East first team. “I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to play for the Bullies. Having the opportunity to play lacrosse and learn the box game is something that I am really looking forward too.”

Stony Brook teammate Adam Rand, who was drafted in the 5th round to the NALL, took over as Stony Brook’s primary face-off man in his Freshmen year and is currently third in NCAA Division I history in face-offs won and second in attempts.

Scott Perri recently completed his career at Drexel with the second-highest point total in school history. He was the 2011 co-captain and brought in 66 points, being named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year.

Rounding out the four is hometown name Bobby Stockton. Stockton played for Ponte Vedra High School before attending UMBC and transferring to Jacksonville University for his senior year. At JU, Stockton appeared in all 15 games and finished second on the team with 20 goals. Head Coach Brian Duncan, who coached Stockton while an assistant coach at JU, expressed that “Stockton will be a fast and physical presence in the middle of the floor for the Bullies.”

The Jacksonville Bullies will be hosting a Regional Combine for the NALL on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at the GOALS Indoor Facility in Ponte Vedra, from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. Free agents looking to be picked by a NALL team are required to register on the NALL website, www.NorthAmericanLacrosseLeague.com, in order to attend. Coaches and GM’s from the NALL teams will be present at this open tryout. This tryout is open to the public to come out and see the excitement this new league and team will be bringing to the Veterans Memorial Arena in January 2012.
