Jacksonville Men’s Lacrosse Announce 2012 Team Captains

JACKSONVILLE, Fla — Jacksonville University has announced that senior defenseman Jake Ziegler and junior midfielder Cameron Mann will be the team captains for the upcoming season.

This marks the second year in a row that Ziegler will be a team captain. The defenseman is entering his third year with the team and has started in every game since the inception of the lacrosse program two years ago. As a junior, Ziegler was selected to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s all-conference first team and conference’s all-academic team. He finished second on the team with 18 caused-turnovers and ranked third on the team with 44 ground balls.

Mann, a junior midfielder, is also entering his third year with the team having played in every game of the program’s existence. As a sophomore last year, he led the team in points with 37 and was a first team MAAC all-conference selection. He ranked in the top three on the team for goals and assists. He ended the season second on the team in ground balls with 46 trailing only the team’s faceoff specialist.
