DURHAM, N.C.-Duke University men’s lacrosse head coach John Danowski recently announced the addition of former University of Maryland standout Joe Cinosky as a volunteer assistant coach. Cinosky joins the staff immediately and will work closely with the defense.

“We are thrilled to have Joe join our staff,” Danowski said. “He has been successful as a player at every level and most recently enjoyed success coaching a collegiate club team. His presence on the staff will be invaluable for us and the student-athletes. We are excited to welcome him to the Duke family.”

Cinosky joined the coaching ranks in 2010 as the head coach of the University of Minnesota Club Lacrosse program. In three seasons with the Gophers, the Boonton Township, N.J., native guided them to a 23-18 record. This past season the team finished 9-7 and earned a berth in the Upper Midwest Lacrosse League Championship.

Cinosky graduated from the University of Maryland in 2008 with a degree in criminology.
