Kirk Lamitie Named Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at Illinois Tech

Chicago, IL – Kirk Lamitie has just been announced as the new head women’s lacrosse coach. He will be leading the brand new program into its opening season in spring 2014. Illinois Tech Director of Athletics Enzley Mitchell IV stated “I am excited to have Kirk as the newest member of our team. His experience in building teams, recruiting ties and personality are a perfect fit. I’m looking forward to Kirk leading our women’s lacrosse team in their first season next spring.”

Before coming to IIT Lamitie has spent his time coaching at all levels of the sport. Including local high school and elite travel girl’s lacrosse teams as well as two seasons at California State University – Chico as the head women’s lacrosse coach where he turned around a one win program to winning 4th in the Western Women’s Lacrosse League in 2002 and 2003.

Kirk graduated from California State University – Chico with his BA in Physical Education in 2003. A native of Albany, New York Kirk brings an east coast lacrosse mentality to the mid-west.
