Lacrosse Evolution Names Christine McKinney Director of Women’s Lacrosse

King of Prussia, PA — October 4, 2011 — Lacrosse Evolution (www.LaxEvo.com) founder and Denver Outlaws Head Coach Tom Slate today announced the addition of Christine McKinney as the new director of women’s lacrosse.

Christine will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of Lacrosse Evolutions women’s lacrosse clinics, camps and select teams and is currently the Head Varsity Coach at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, PA. Christine is also the Head Coach for the PA Express summer club team and a certified PIAA women’s lacrosse umpire.

“We are very excited to have Christine come on board and share her passion for lacrosse with kids and help players in our area take their game to the next level,” said Slate. “We take great pride in offering the best lacrosse instruction and training facilities in the Philadelphia area. It’s our belief that the only way our sport is going to continue to grow is by sharing what we have learned with the next generation of players.”

Christine McKinney was recruited from Springside Chestnut Hill Academy to play Lacrosse at George Mason University in 1994 as a starting midfielder. She transferred back home in 1996 to Philadelphia where she completed her collegiate career as a starting midfielder for the St. Joseph University Hawks.

Coach McKinney has more than 12 years coaching experience, and was most recently named the U-13 Southeastern PA National Team Coach in 2010, and was named Head Coach for the PA Women’s Senior Division team at the NCAA National Tournament in 2011.

“I look forward to continue using my years of coaching experience and drawing on my experience as a Division 1 lacrosse player to help guide our youth and high school players and to play at the collegiate level,” said McKinney. “I have been familiar with Lacrosse Evolution and have known Tom Slate for several years, and am excited to have the opportunity to work side by side with Tom to continue to grow the sport we love.”
