As a former goalie for Princeton’s womens team, Jane Randall, has faced her fair share of shots. The lacrosse goalie is now taking her abilities to reality TV. She will be competing against 14 other young women on Tyra Banks hit show, America’s Next Top Model.
Randall is being thwarted in to an entirely new arena of high fashion, glitz and glam. This is without a doubt something she is not used to. “I was definitely intimidated by the challenges that go along with the show,” said Randall, a 20-year-old Monkton native and graduate of Roland Park Country School. “But I was definitely excited.” The sophomore history major will have to adjust to being judged on her beauty as opposed to her uncanny reflexes in goal.
Standing at a lean 5’9”, Randall definitely has the physique for a model. Randall took a leap of faith and sent in her pictures after being contacted by a photographer in New York City.
“As a lacrosse goalie, she never felt like she got to express her femininity,” said Randall’s mother, Carol, who works as a part-time nurse. “She definitely was a tomboy growing up, trying to keep up with her [older] brother.”
In case you aren’t familiar with the show this season’s winner receives a contract with IMG Models, a fashion spread in the magazine Vogue Italia and an additional spread and cover of Beauty in Vogue, and a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl Cosmetics.
