This past Saturday, Ohio Machine’s Chazz Woodson put on a show against the Denver Outlaws. Woodson handled the ball at “X,” which is basically his living room because he makes his living behind the goal, as he led the Machine’s man-up possession. He caught Lee Zink and Jesse Schwartzman on one side of the goal before sprinting to the other side to dip-n-dunk-n-stop-on-a-dime-before-breaking-ankles-and-scoring.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Machine (1-4) fell down early by five goals to the Denver Outlaws (4-2) and could not recover, eventually falling to Denver 16-8.

Denver Outlaws’ midfielder Josh Sims scored one minute into the game to begin the 5-0 run for the Outlaws. Machine attackman Chazz Woodson broke up the run when he scored Ohio’s first goal of the game in the second quarter.

The Outlaws responded with goals from attackmen Chris Bocklet, Terry Kimener and Brendan Mundorf to take a 9-1 lead.

Machine defenseman Kyle Hartzell scored the second goal for the team right before half-time.

The Outlaws continued their offensive assault in the second half. Bocklet scored three out of the Outlaw’s next four goals to increase their lead to 15-5. The Machine’s offense got into gear in the fourth quarter with goals from attackman Connor Martin, defenseman Kyle Hartzell (2-pt), and attackman Jim Connolly.

After Outlaws midfielder Drew Snider scored, Woodson and midfielder Matt Lalli scored to bring the Machine’s point total to eight.

Machine midfielder Anthony Kelly won 10 out of 16 face-offs and had two groundballs. Goalie Brian Phipps finished his first full game of the season with 10 saves.

Mundorf led the Outlaws with six points (3G 3A) and Bocklet added three goals and one assist. Outlaw goalie Jesse Schwartzman had ten saves and Outlaw rookie goalie Charlie Cipriano had four saves in his MLL debut.

The Machine will return to action next week at home when they face the Long Island Lizards at 7 p.m at Selby Stadium in Delaware, Ohio.
