Loyola To Face Princeton, Air Force In Play For Parkinson’s MLAX Event

BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men’s lacrosse will play two scrimmages Sunday, Oct. 5, in the 2014 Play for Parkinson’s Fall Lacrosse event at Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia.

The Greyhounds open the event with a 1 o’clock game against Princeton University, and they will then take on the U.S. Air Force Academy at 3 o’clock. Towson University will also participate in the event and play Air Force at 1 p.m., Princeton at 3 p.m.

“This is a terrific event to raise money for a great cause,” said Loyola Head Coach Charley Toomey. “We are looking forward to facing Princeton and Air Force in an environment that will help prepare us for the spring.”

Over the last four years, the ProjectSpark Foundation has raised over $200,000 for the fight against Parkinson’s disease through the fall lacrosse series. Tickets for the event are $20 for adults and $10 for youth 5-16 years of age. Children five an under are free. For more information, visit PlayForParkinsons.org.

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
