MAAC Announces 2012-13 Championship Sites


Edison, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) has announced its championship sites for the 2012-13 academic year. The sites are chosen by the MAAC Committee on Athletic Administration.

The Cross Country Championships head to the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The Men’s Soccer Championship returns to Loyola’s Ridley Athletic Complex on a Thursday/Saturday format as opposed to the usual Friday/Sunday schedule. Fairfield University will host the Volleyball Championship at Alumni Hall for the first time since 2007.

The Men’s & Women’s Basketball Championships will continue its run at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. in year two of a three-year deal. Tickets will be available on TicketMaster.com at a later date.

For the second straight year the final weekend in April will hold competition for eight MAAC Championships. The Tennis and Rowing Championships will be back at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J., while the Golf Championships will be held at Disney’s Palm Golf Course. Marist College will host the Women’s Lacrosse and Water Polo Championships on its Poughkeepsie, N.Y. campus.

The Men’s Lacrosse Championship heads to Canisius College’s Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, N.Y. The Baseball Championship returns to Waterfront Park, home of the New York Yankees AA-affiliate Trenton Thunder.
