Madlax in Dallas, TX: Partnership with Sentry Lacrosse Club is Growing the Sport Nationally

McLean, VA. December 18, 2013 – Madlax announced a new partnership with the Dallas elite lacrosse club, Sentry, from Texas further enhancing its well-known national lacrosse all-star program and brand while helping grow the game of lacrosse nationally. Sentry joins Madlax-Capital, Madlax-Florida and Madlax-California as regional lacrosse efforts and Apex, another partner program, which make up the Madlax National All-Star Program.

The partnership between Madlax and Sentry works perfectly. Sentry players are now able to ‘guest play’ anytime on Madlax Teams and the top Sentry players can play for a Madlax National Teams, considered some of the most competitive teams in the US between the 2015-2019 high school graduation years. Madlax gains the advantage by having excellent players from Dallas join an already very talented roster to compete in all-star and recruiting tournaments. Madlax plans to put the best players from all regional and partner programs blending Sentry players with Canadians from Apex LC, the best from the DC Capital area, Florida and California. It should make it easy on college coaches who are scouting knowing that Madlax has pulled all the best from around the US and Canada and put them on one National Team roster for each graduation class.

Sentry plans to immediately hold tryouts and expand the program in January. This partnership will enable even more players from Texas a greater opportunity to be seen by college coaches. It is a dream of many young Texans to attend a top academic and athletic college on scholarship to play lacrosse. Therefore, this partnership should attract more athletes from the Dallas region to Sentry knowing now what they might be able to do. Since Madlax is a well-recognized and respected lacrosse program by college coaches players from Dallas will quickly figure out if they want to play college lacrosse in the US a smart path to that dream is by playing for Sentry. Madlax has placed over 375 players in to colleges since establishing the travel teams in 1999. Texans are ‘hot’ recruits by college coaches right now as there are so many great athletes hidden in the state.

Sentry Lacrosse Club Founder & Co-Director, Tommy Shuey, a former D1 lacrosse player at Hofstra says, “The partnership with Madlax gives our Sentry players the opportunity to compete side-by-side with the best players in the country on the Madlax National team, and it also gives our guys unprecedented access to the recruiting services utilized by players in the Northeast. We look forward to raising the bar of Texas lacrosse by competing in Madlax tournaments and offering players the chance to gain national recognition.” Sentry Directors already hold lacrosse camps and clinics but plan to add a local tournament with Madlax which should help grow the game locally in Dallas and attract more players to Sentry. Shuey adds, “Around 2000 there were only a handful of teams in Dallas. Since then lacrosse has experienced explosive growth in the area with more than 4,000 players now in North Texas. The sport continues to grow as more qualified coaches move to the area and introduce the game to the already exceptional athletes.

Madlax founder and owner, Cabell Maddux, adds, “Texas, and in particular Dallas, is one of the most explosive growth areas for lacrosse in the country so we are very excited to help grow this great sport in that region. We have been focused on establishing a partner program there for years but searching for the right leadership. We could not be happier with the partnership with Tommy Shuey and Pat Debolt, Directors of SENTRY LC, who are impressive and working hard to grow the sport in Dallas. All the boys who are now or one day part of Sentry LC will be afforded the opportunity to play with and against some of the best players in the US on a true national team in premier recruiting and all-star tournaments. I am truly excited for the boys in his program! ”
