Major League Lacrosse Partners with Smartlink


BOSTON, Mass. (April 16, 2013)– Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league, announced today that it has partnered with Smartlink, naming the famed staffing and site development firm the Official Presenter of the 2013 MLL Championship Weekend at PPL Park in Philadelphia, Pa. August 24-25.

“We are very excited to partner with Smartlink for Championship Weekend,” said MLL Commissioner David Gross. “Smartlink has been a strong supporter of the sport of lacrosse throughout the years and this partnership shows their continued dedication.”

The partnership will provide Smartlink with corporate visibility and assets including commercial time during the national broadcasts of both semifinals and championship match on CBS Sports Network and ESPN2, as well as in-stadium branding and interactive space in the MLL Fan Zone throughout Championship Weekend which will now be designated “MLL Championship Weekend presented by Smartlink.”

Smartlink is a national industry leader providing staffing and site development services. The company is headquartered in Annapolis, MD, and its focus is specific to the development, engineering, and maintenance of new and existing infrastructure within the telecommunications, real estate, construction, engineering and IT industries.

Smartlink is no stranger to the sport of lacrosse. The company has sponsored and continues to support local club lacrosse teams, as well as youth summer and indoor leagues. Smartlink CEO, Brendan Kelly is the current owner of the Chesapeake Bayhawks, who under head coach Dave Cottle, won their fourth MLL Championship in 2012.

Championship Weekend is the culmination of the MLL’s season and one of its marquee events. It will pit the top four teams of the regular season against each other in a single-game direct-elimination format. Semi-finals will take place on Saturday, August 24 and the Championship Game on Sunday, August 25.
