Maverik Announces Washington College Sponsorship

Long Island City, NY, October 12, 2010 — Maverik Lacrosse is proud to announce its sponsorship of Washington College men’s NCAA Division III lacrosse program under the guidance and direction of new head coach Jeff Shirk. In 2011, the “Shoremen” will be outfitted with Maverik equipment including custom Maroon, White and Black Maverik Maybach gloves and team branded Monster travel bags.

“We decided to partner with Maverik because of their reputation as a quality company with some of the best lacrosse equipment on the market today,” said Washington College’s men’s lacrosse head coach Jeff Shirk. “I have known Mike Springer since high school and can’t say enough about his and Maverik’s dedication to being the best. Washington College and Maverik both share the same drive and determination for excellence.”

“We are really looking forward to working with Coach Shirk and his staff to help them achieve their goal of a national championship,”said John Gagliardi, President and founder of Maverik Lacrosse. “Jeff’s success as a coach at VMI and as a player at the University of Maryland and in the National Lacrosse League are credentials few coaches have on their resume. I have no doubt Jeff will have an immediate impact on the Washington College program.”

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
