Maverik Lacrosse Founder Gagliardi Moving On

NEW YORK – April 16, 2013 — John Gagliardi, founder of Maverik Lacrosse, today announced that he would be amicably parting with Bauer Performance Sports in June to focus his day-to-day efforts on a new business venture to be announced in July. The two parties will continue to partner together on lacrosse related events including Gagliardi’s award-winning No Limits Lacrosse Camps.

“My acquisition agreement is over and it is time to hand the torch to the new guys,” said Gagliardi. “Sam Freider at Kohlberg has been wonderful to work with and I learned a great deal from him. I have some unbelievable memories, the first shipment of Wonderboys and packing boxes on Super Bowl Sunday as a team. I was lucky to do all of this with some of my best friends. Maverik was my first baby and it is a little sad walking away, but, it is in good hands now.”

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
