New York, July 19, 2012 – Today Maverik Lacrosse added University of Virginia lacrosse great and Denver attackman Chris Bocklet to its elite roster of lacrosse representatives. While residing in Colorado, Bocklet will play an integral role in representing Maverik Lacrosse at tournaments, camps and clinics in the West. Earlier this month, Bocklet’s X10 Mountain Adventure Camp in Granby, Colorado attracted players from across the state including Boulder, Littleton, Parker, Steamboat and Fort Collins. Follow Maverik Lacrosse and Chris on Facebook and Twitter for the latest gear, news and updates on where Maverik’s Athletes will be next.

“Chris’ love for lacrosse and his positive approach to teaching the game are two attributes we look for in our athletes,” said John Gagliardi, Chief Marketing Officer and founder of Maverik Lacrosse. “His athletic and academic successes combined with his work ethic and magnetic personality make him a great addition to our team.”

Bocklet played in 11 games his freshman year at UVA and gained valuable experience by playing with Cavalier greats including Danny Glading and Garrett Billings. Sophomore year, Bocklet quickly jumped into the national spotlight when he scored an incredible 53 goals and 14 assists, making him the only player other than Doug Knight (1994-97) in Virginia history to score 50 or more goals in a season. Bocklet’s 35 game scoring streak continued into his Junior year where he racked up 100 career goals earning him a second consecutive All-American Honorable Mention (2010-2011). Following his senior year having lead the Cavaliers to a 12-4 record and to the NCAA quarter finals, Bocklet was drafted in the fourth round of the MLL Collegiate Draft to the Denver Outlaws, joining his older brother and fellow Maverik Athlete Peet Poillon. Bocklet’s professional career has gotten off to a quick start earning Cascade Rookie of the Week honors in week six as he tallied three goals and an assist in the Outlaws win over Ohio.

“I am extremely excited to be a member of the Maverik team” said Bocklet. “Clearly an innovator in the lacrosse industry, I am proud to now be a part of their growth. One thing that separates Maverik from the rest are the people involved. Growing up I have formed some close friendships with great people through Maverik Lacrosse. I could not be more excited to officially join the Maverik family.”
