Maverik Lacrosse to Equip Colgate University “Raiders”


New York, December 8, 2011 — Maverik Lacrosse is proud to announce that it has signed a multi-year equipment deal with Colgate University and its new head coach Mike Murphy. The Raiders are coming off an 11-5 record in 2011 which included a thrilling season-ending 10 to 8 win over NCAA Finalist Maryland.

“We chose Maverik as our equipment partner because I was impressed with their passion, pride and enthusiasm that they displayed in dealing with our program,”said Mike Murphy, head men’s lacrosse coach at Colgate University and former Army assistant coach (2003-11). “The quality of their equipment is superior and to know that it has been tested and approved by some of the greatest players in lacrosse is reassuring. Everyone on our team is very excited to be aligned with Maverik, and we are looking forward to our new relationship.”

In the Fall of 2011 the Raiders will be wearing custom white,maroon and gray Maverik ROME gloves and shoulder/elbow guards. Players will also enjoy a wide variety of Maverik products to choose from when building their sticks. The “Raiders” will have their choice of Maverik’s new for 2012 Spider, Juice and Rize heads in addition to BOOST, H2 and Wonder Boy shafts. Maverik will also be providing the Raiders with everything they need totake to the field from rib pads to chest protectors, ball bags and game balls.

On Saturday, December 11th Coach Murphy and the Colgate’s men’slacrosse team will be hosting their inaugural Raider Classic 8 vs. 8 Tournamentfor high school boys from 8 am to 6 pm at the Sanford Indoor Center on the Colgate University Campus.
