MLL Announces New Fatheads for Stanwick and Miller

Fathead has announced the addition of two of MLL’s biggest up and coming players. Jovan Miller of the Charlotte Hounds and Steele Stanwick of the Ohio Machine will be joining the ranks of Paul Rabil (Boston Cannons), Brendan Mundorf (Denver Outlaws), Brodie Merrill (Hamilton Nationals), Matt Poskay (Boston Cannons), and Ned Crotty (Rochester Rattlers) with their very own Fatheads.

Miller is coming off of his second season with MLL, playing for the 2012 expansion team Charlotte Hounds, in which he scored 13 goals and added six assists. The potent midfielder started his career with the Rochester Rattlers in 2011, scoring four goals and four assists in seven games during his rookie season. In college, Miller was a two-time All American at Syracuse, leading his team to two National Championships and finishing his career with 35 goals and 29 assists for 64 points. In addition to his athletic premise, Miller has become an MLL character, racking up an impressive list of Twitter followers (#JoviNation) which earned him a nomination for “Lacrosse Personality of the Year” in this month’s Inside Lacrosse Laxies. When asked about his latest accomplishments, Miller did not hide his excitement.

“This is nuts! I never thought I would play lacrosse in college, let alone play professionally. I am just so happy to be someone kids can identify with. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way!”

Steele Stanwick, another newcomer, is just finishing up his rookie season with the Ohio Machine. The Machine attackman scored 11 goals and led all MLL rookies in assists with 17 for a total of 28 points, quickly becoming a standout player for his team. Prior to his time in the MLL, Stanwick had a decorated career at the University of Virginia. He was awarded the 2011 Tewaaraton Trophy, 2012 Jack Turnbull Award, dual ACC Player of the Year honors, was a two time All-American, and to cap it off, led his team to a 2011 National Championship title. Like Miller, Stanwick also showed his sentiment for the honor.

“I am very excited and humbled that the MLL has decided to make me a Fathead featured player! This is really great for the Ohio Machine fans and the organization. It is a step in the right direction.”
