MLL Star Kevin Buchanan Pens Endorsement Deal With Brine

Boston, MA (May 5, 2011) – Brine and Major League Lacrosse announced today the signing of Major League Lacrosse midfielder, Kevin Buchanan, to a multi-year endorsement contract. The Boston Cannons star is entering his fourth season with the league and will become a symbol of Brine’s high-performance products beginning this spring.

“Brine is an iconic brand within the lacrosse industry, a company who designs and manufactures products of the highest quality,” said Buchanan. “As player who has been using their equipment my entire life, I feel blessed and thrilled to have the opportunity to represent Brine. As part of his contract, Buchanan will make appearances to promote Brine and its products. Brine will use his image in advertisements, posters, catalogs, packaging, and utilize him extensively through digital media. Director of Sports Marketing for Warrior/Brine Lacrosse, Mark Millon, signed Buchanan to this deal.

“I have been watching Kevin play since his days at Calvert Hall in high school and he has been an elite player at every level,” Millon said. “He loves the sport and has such an engaging personality. He will be a tremendous asset to the brand as we move forward.”

Buchanan was the fifth overall pick in the 2008 MLL Collegiate Draft by the Los Angeles Riptide. In 2010 he had a breakout season after he moved to Boston, scoring an MLL career high of 20 goals, 33 points, 11 assists and 12 ground balls, playing in all 12 regular season games. Buchanan was named to the 2010 MLL All-Star team and won the MLL Freestyle Skills Competition during halftime, crafting a barefoot, mid-air acrobatic trick-shot, soaring over the goal post and scoring on Chris Garrity of the Chesapeake Bayhawks.

Buchanan also plays for the Boston Blazers and was the 11th overall pick by the Minnesota Swarm in 2008. In 2009 he was named to the NLL All Rookie Team and was a member of the 2011 USA Box Team. He was named NLL Player of the Week on April 21 in a game against Buffalo with 5 goals and 4 assists. During the 2011 regular season Buchanan had 24 goals and 33 assists.

Buchanan played for The Ohio State University from 2005 to 2008, where he was team captain his senior year. Buchanan was named Conference Player of the Year and All-American in 2008. The same year he finished fourth in the nation with 74 points, 44 ground balls and 30 assists. Buchanan attended Calvert Hall High School in Baltimore, Maryland, named 2003 MIAA Champions.
