National Lacrosse League Awards 2012 All-Star Game to Buffalo

(NLL) – The National Lacrosse League has awarded the 2012 All-Star Game to the Buffalo Bandits. Buffalo will host the All-Star Game at First Niagara Center on Saturday, February 25th at 7pm et/4pm pt.

“We are pleased to award the 2012 All-Star Game to the Buffalo Bandits,” said NLL Commissioner George Daniel. “We look forward to bringing the world’s greatest players to Buffalo and First Niagara Center for the first time.”

The Bandits led the NLL and all professional and college lacrosse teams in average home attendance in 2011, averaging 17,096 fans per game. The event will mark the first professional all-star game in the 15-year history of First Niagara Center.

“We are extremely proud and excited to be hosting the 2012 NLL All-Star game,” said Scott Loffler, Bandits Director of Lacrosse Operations. “The Bandits and Sabres organizations, First Niagara Center and the City of Buffalo are known for putting on first-rate world-class events…this will be no different.”

The game will be the league’s eleventh All-Star Game, as the East All-Stars battle the West All-Stars. Fans will once again help in selecting the All-Star players by voting online at NLL.com.
