Old School: Brine's King II Special Edition Gloves – Hardwood Throwbacks

The NBA Playoffs didn’t give us the Celtics vs. Lakers this year, but you can still re-live old-school rivalries with the Lakers or Celtics gloves in a new limited edition line from Brine. The Hardwood Throwback gloves are a limited edition King II line with a couple of premium features.

There’s the obvious homage to the old school NBA rivalry, as the Celtics King II gloves are green with white trim, while the Lakers King II are yellow with purple trim.

The Hardwood gloves are especially unique because of the palms, which look like a basketball, but most of all, should provide greater comfort than a traditional palm. That’s because the palms of the Hardwood gloves are made from Italian leather (think driving glove instead of lacrosse glove). This provides greater flexibility, a softer feel, and better control when you are wearing them (we’re told you could even tie your shoe with your gloves still on).

The glove is also made of metallic brush leather, which makes it look like someone painted metal over the glove, giving it a really unique look.

The Hardwood Throwbacks are part of a limited edition King II from Brine and are now available. Let us know what you think by commenting below.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
