Peet Poillon Signs with Maverik

Long Island City, NY, December 30, 2010 – Maverik Lacrosse is proud to announce that Peet Poillon is the newest member of its already impressive list of player representatives. Peet will be representing Maverik at clinics and tournaments across the country. Additionally, his Low and Away Lacrosse club teams, camps and clinics will also be sponsored by Maverik.

“I am extremely excited to be a part of Maverik Lacrosse,” said Peet Poillon. “The way they continue to simultaneously produce the top equipment in the game while growing the sport of lacrosse is very impressive. I am looking forward to helping Maverik design the most innovative equipment in the game. Their dedication to help me develop lacrosse through my Low and Away Lacrosse club teams, camps and clinics is unparalleled.”

The Pittsburgh-native and graduate of Seneca Valley High School is no stranger to hard work and determination. In high school, Poillon set the Western Pennsylvania Scholastic Lacrosse Association’s scoring record with 410 career goals and was named the WPSLA’s Player of the Year his senior year. Being from Pittsburgh, Peet went unnoticed by recruiters and played his first two years of college lacrosse at Howard Community College in Columbia, MD, where he earned NJCAA All-American honors both years. Peet transferred to the Ohio State University where he earned honorable mention All-American honors and lead the Buckeye’s to the NCAA Quarterfinals. However, Peet longed to play in the state of Maryland again and for his final season of college lacrosse chose to suit up for the Retrievers of UMBC. While at UMBC, Poillon led the team in scoring with 26 goals and 21 assists, earned second-team All-American honors, an America East title and a bid to the NCAA Tournament. Following graduation, Peet’s game continued to grow and become even more dynamic playing professionally in Major League Lacrosse (MLL). In his second year as an MLL pro Peet garnered headlines for his gritty unselfish play while helping the Chesapeake Bayhawks capture the 2010 MLL Championship. Additionally, Peet lead the MLL in scoring among all midfielders, took home the MLL’s Most Improved Player award and was recognized as an MLL All Pro in 2010.

“Peet is an excellent example of how hard work and determination can lead to great things,” said John Gagliardi, President and founder of Maverik Lacrosse “We are really excited to have Peet join our company to help build our brand and most importantly share his work ethic with players at clinics and tournaments across the country.”
