Princeton Lax Partners With Fields Of Growth For Equipment Drive Saturday

If you have a youth lacrosse player, then you probably have a garage cluttered with old lacrosse equipment.

To make some space for the next round of clutter, bring the old equipment to Princeton Saturday evening in a win-win-win situation.

First, you’ll be rid of the old stuff.

Second, you can see Princeton and Cornell play for the right to host the Ivy League tourament.

And third, you can help Princeton lacrosse and Fields Of Growth in their continued support of the national lacrosse program – not to mention several educational ventures – in Uganda.

Chad Wiedmaier, Princeton’s All-America defenseman, spent a month last summer in Uganda as part of the Fields of Growth project, which is using the sport of lacrosse as an educational and cultural tool in the country.

In addition to any old lacrosse eqipment, donations of clothing will be accepted as well. There will be boxes provided by Fields of Growth between the parking lots and the ticket window at Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium where the equipment and clothes can be deposited.

Princeton and Cornell face-of at 7 Saturday night.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
