Coaches or program administrators that register two or more teams from the same organization will save $50 per team, be entered into a raffle to win a free team registration to a 2015 US Lacrosse Regional Championship, and be entered into a raffle to win a free registration and hotel stay at the US Lacrosse Convention in Baltimore Jan. 23-25, 2015. Coaches that refer a team from another organization to register will receive a $50 referral credit.
The national governing body’s 17th annual youth lacrosse tournaments will take place June 6-8 in Raleigh, N.C.<http://www.uslacrosse.
“Most tournaments for middle school-age teams include teams from the [Baltimore-D.C.] area,” said Jennifer Palmiere, administrator and co-founder of the Montgomery County, Md.-based MC Elite girls’ lacrosse program, which has registered two U13 teams and one U15 team. “I was looking for other events where we could play good competition against teams from other places, and I heard about the US Lacrosse Southeast Championships in Raleigh. It’s great — not too far, but far enough to not see the same teams you always see in the summer. We’re excited about the opportunity.”
For the Southeast Championships only, coaches that register two or more teams from the same organization will have a chance to win one of two $500 registration credits, courtesy of the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance.
In the U15 division, the semifinalists at each regional championship will earn automatic bids with free or discounted registration to the sixth annual US Lacrosse U15 National Championships, powered by Lacrosse Unlimited, July 21-23 in Aurora, Colo. At-large bids to that event are no longer available. Qualification through a regional championship will set the remainder of the U15 National Championship brackets.
The US Lacrosse Regional Championships guarantee teams at least four games over the three-day tournament, with age-appropriate rules and US Lacrosse-trained officials. Teams compete in pool play before progressing through bracket play to determine a champion. US Lacrosse will name a “Keeper of Lacrosse” Sportsmanship Award winner at each championship. Certified athletic trainers are on site, and there is no admission charge for spectators.
