Retail Spotlight: Gant Store NYC

While I was down in Brooklyn for New Year’s, I went up to 5th Avenue in Manhattan to check out some of the fancy people stores. When I spotted the GANT store (5th Avenue between 52nd and 51st), I remembered a previous LPG post about their lacrosse inspired clothing line. I was pretty stoked and headed on in with my eyes peeled. On my way up to the men’s apparel, I spotted an entirely lacrosse themed display .

While I was disappointed that the sticks were never used, with aluminum shafts and factory pockets, it was still pretty sweet to come across this showcase in the store’s gallery. Some employee tried to shut me down, claiming photography wasn’t allowed in the store, but I was determined. Luckily I was able to lose him and I get the shots. I’m a little curious why Dartmouth was the school chosen for the pennant, so if anyone can figure it out let us know in the comments!

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.

Dartmouth = Ivy. They are probably want Ivy League customers because most of the Ivy Alumni in NYC are on Wall Street and that means $$$$$
