Rochester Rattlers to Host Charity Game to Benefit Men’s Health

On Saturday July 28th, the Rochester Rattlers will be partnering with Urology Associates of Rochester and GoBuyRochester.com to hold the first-ever Rattlers men’s health helmet auction. The auction will feature special edition, game-worn, autographed helmets, and will run online from July 28th through August 4th at GoBuyRochester.com. All proceeds from the auction will go to benefit two organizations involved in the fight against prostate cancer: the Lipson Cancer Center at Rochester General Hospital and ZERO: The Project to End Prostate Cancer.

In addition to the helmet auction fans will also have an opportunity to donate money in exchange for a sledge hammer swing at a specially painted car as part of the “Pound Out Prostate Cancer” promotion. Patrons may sign up ahead of time by logging on to http://www.uarochester.com/poundoutprostate/ or sign up on the 28th at the Rattlers game.

Nathan Snyder, the Vice President of Sales and Assistant GM of the Rattlers, states, “The Rattlers are very excited and honored to be partnering with the Urology Associates of Rochester. Any awareness and support that the Rattlers can provide through the use of unique fundraising efforts is something that our organization feels strongly about. Everyone in our organization especially our athletes all share a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for this event.”

Saturday, July 28th, the Rattlers will be hosting the Ohio Machine at Sahlen’s Stadium while wearing special “men’s health” helmets to raise awareness of prostate cancer. Those same helmets will then be autographed and auctioned off at GoBuyRochester.com. Urology Associates of Rochester (UAR) is partnering with the Rattlers for this special game and will be providing free on-site screenings for prostate cancer.

“We are excited about this new partnership with the Rochester Rattlers,” said Dr. David Dever of UAR. “Every opportunity to focus on prostate cancer awareness is valuable. Early detection and treatment are key in the fight against prostate cancer, and the Rattlers’ support of our ongoing educational efforts will make a positive difference.”

Proceeds from the auction of the autographed, game-worn helmets will go to the Lipson Cancer Center at Rochester General Hospital and ZERO: The Project to End Prostate Cancer. Go Buy Rochester is proud to partner with the Rochester Rattlers to support these great organizations. The blind auction will be accessible at http://gobuyrochester.com and will go live Saturday evening when the gates at Sahlen’s Stadium open. The helmet auction will end on August 4th, following the Rattlers’ next home game.
