RoughRiders Launch in Philadelphia

Elkridge, Md. (September, 2013)–The RoughRiders high school and youth boys club lacrosse program announced today it is launching in the Philadelphia market with the addition of four teams. The Philadelphia RoughRiders will include two U13 teams this fall and two U11 teams in the spring of 2014.

The Philadelphia coaching staff will be lead by general manager Douglas Corrigan. A former assistant coach at Villanova and Widener, Douglas also played 10 years with the Philadelphia MAB lacrosse club and served as captain during his college career at the University of Virginia.

Douglas said, “Philadelphia’s western suburbs are home to some of the finest talent in the country. Our goal is to deliver the best coaching and lacrosse experience to our teams as well as embrace the players into the RoughRiders’ culture.”

Lee Corrigan, president of Corrigan Sports Enterprises which owns the club, said, “It’s exciting to see the RoughRiders family launch in Philadelphia. My brother Douglas knows the level of excellence we’ve founded the program on, and I know he will carry the RoughRiders name well.”

The RoughRiders will field 17 total teams in 2014, including 12 youth and one adult team in Maryland. Alumni from the nationally ranked Maryland Elite squad include:
