We love the NCAA tourney a lot because of the new gear brands feature. UNC’s debuting new helmets for this weekend’s matchup against Tobacco Road foe, Duke.

And now we have pictures of Flanagan’s new Nike Legacy chrome head strung by team stick doctor Gavin Petracca.

Nike gives special cleats with chrome bottom plates for some of their professional athletes in the NFL. I think they did it first for Ladanian Tomlinson in 2007, so it’s been going on for a while. They are just applying that to lacrosse heads and got something super awesome out of it. Surprised they didn’t do it sooner. You also can’t just put a chrome layer on it b/c then it will chip. Nike has perfected it for their professional athletes to look good come Sundays. So school sponsored by STX will have some STX and Nike heads that are chromed out b/c STX is partnered with Nike.
