Scenes from the MadLax Face-Off Competition

MadLax, a lacrosse retail store with four locations in the Washington D.C. area, held a Face-Off Competition for incoming high school juniors. The event, held at Georgetown University, was a small part of tryouts for the MadLax All-Star teams this summer.

Lacrosse Playground was able to capture some of the sites and sounds from the competition. See the video of the competition below.

As we watched the athletes compete it was hard not to notice that many of the face-off specialists had Warrior heads. While a couple competitors had Revo Pros, many seemed to use Warrior Blades. The Blade 2.0 and Blade F-Off are both popular among face-off specialists because of the pinch/squeeze you are able to create around the ball.

MadLax also has a video with several rising seniors talking about their college commitments. You can check out that video over at My.LacrossePlayground.com or at Madlax.com.

Lacrosse Playground

In 2009, Adam O’Neill, Harry Alford and Thomas Alford launched Lacrosse Playground as the preeminent site for lacrosse gearheads. For years Lacrosse Playground provided lacrosse fans with tutorials and tips on how to string a lacrosse head, up-close looks at the gear the top players used and sneak peeks at equipment and uniforms before they were released. More than 10 years and millions of visits later, Lacrosse Playground has relaunched with a focus on storytelling. Our mission is to provide comprehensive coverage of the latest lacrosse news, share insights into the sports betting and fantasy lacrosse world and showcase the lifestyles and personalities of the sport of lacrosse through articles, videos and podcasts.
