Shamrocks Sign Josh Amidon

WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 17, 2011)- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Shamrocks announced today that they have signed on Josh Amidon of Syracuse University for their 2012 season.

Amidon played midfield for Syracuse all four years he attended and was the teams co-captain his senior year. He received USILA Honorable Mention All-American for the past two years and played in every game of the season, starting every game his senior year.

“We are very pleased that Josh has agreed to play for the shamrocks,” said Barry Powless, Head Coach of the team. “He has played at two schools that have a great lacrosse tradition; Lafayette High School and Syracuse University. We look forward to Josh bringing his positive attitude and desire to win to the Shamrocks.”

The Shamrocks chose Amidon in their College Entry Draft last week in Wilkes-Barre. He was the Shamrocks third round pick. The team will begin play in January at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
