Spring Classic Matchup: #10 Calvert Hall vs #17 Gonzaga

Lacrosse Playground is proud to announce its second annual event, LacrossePlayground.com Spring Classic 2013. The 2013 event will be held in Johnny Unitas Stadium on Towson University’s campus in Towson, Maryland. The remarkable venue will host three high-action high school boy’s lacrosse games. Previously, we described the Gilman vs Georgetown Prep and Landon vs Penn Charter games. Today, we take a closer look at one of the highly anticipated matchups, Calvert Hall vs Gonzaga. Calvert Hall is currently ranked #10 nationally in the Under Armour High School Power Rankings, whereas Gonzaga is #17.

The schools hail from the MIAA and the WCAC and finished their 2012 season as conference champions. Both conferences are widely regarded by lacrosse experts as two of the top conferences in the country. Calvert Hall and Gonzaga are in need of a win after losing to Hill Academy (Ont.) 10-7 and 8-7, respectively.

“Gonzaga Lacrosse is extremely excited to be a part of this wonderful event Lacrosse Playground is putting together,” says Gonzaga Head Coach Casey O’Neill. “Everything leading up to the day has been professional and on point. It really is an honor for us to be a part of something like this with all of these other amazing high school programs that we have always admired and thought the world of.”
