Stony Brook University Signs Equipment Deal With Maverik

Long Island City, NY, November 30, 2010 — The defending America East Champions and NCAA quarterfinalist Stony Brook University Seawolves are the latest premier collegiate lacrosse team to select Maverik as their equipment manufacturer of choice.

The Seawolves will be taking to the field in custom white and red Maverik Maybach gloves and shoulder/elbow guards. American East Player of the Year and Tewaaraton finalist Kevin Crowley and his teammates will have their choice of the NEW Maverik heads and shafts for 2011 including the “RIZE” and “FRAT” to pair with the Phenix, H2 Scandium Titanium and Wonderboys.

“I am very excited about our partnership with Maverik,” said Rick Sowell, the head coach for the Stony Brook University men’s lacrosse team. “Maverik is an up-and-coming company and definitely on the move. There are many things that intrigue me about Maverik. But, the one thing more than anything else that stood out to me was the quality of the people who work and run the company. Additionally, besides having great products Maverik goes above and beyond to service their clients. I am very much looking forward to a great working relationship between Stony Brook and Maverik.”

“It is exciting to partner with such a competitive and highly visible program like Stony Brook,” said John Gagliardi, President and founder of Maverik Lacrosse. “We are really looking forward to working with Rick and his staff to help them bring home another America East Championship and progress further in the NCAA Tournament.”
