STX Announces Its Search For The STXtreme Intern

STX Is Holding Its STXtreme Internship Contest At Power Plant Live! To Find A Sports Marketing Intern For Spring 2013

Baltimore, MD – Baltimore-based STX, LLC, a global sporting goods leader, announced today its STXtreme Internship Contest, a search for an undergraduate intern to work with the Marketing Department at STX.

STX is accepting STXtreme Internship applications now through Wed. Oct. 17. The top finalists will then be chosen to compete in the STXtreme Intern Showdown. The showdown will require the applicants to get creative and showcase their marketing skills with a networking and social media scavenger hunt and sports challenge. The final Showdown event will take place at Power Plant Live! on Nov. 5 at 2 p.m.

The STXtreme Internship is focused on real sports marketing experience and exposure. The intern will be participating in projects such as photo shoots, sales meetings and college game days.

Students do not have to play sports to apply, but they should have a love for the game and an interest in sports marketing. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in a bachelor’s program at an accredited college or university for the upcoming semester and major in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related major. Applicants must also be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per week and be available from start of the Spring semester through June 7th.

“STX’s motto is ‘Never Stop’ and we’re looking for someone who exhibits that same passion and insatiable curiosity,” said STX Marketing Director Ed Saunders. “The hands-on work that they will accomplish here will prepare them for real-world sports marketing. We hope that this internship contest really brings out the applicants’ creative personalities.”

To apply, eligible students should submit a blog post or 1-minute video explaining why they want to work at STX and why they are a best fit for the brand to [email protected] along with their resume. Applicants are also encouraged to introduce themselves to STX on Facebook and Twitter with a comment or, for the braver applicants, with their blog or video.
