Syracuse Men’s Lacrosse Announces 2012 TV Schedule

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Thirteen of the Syracuse men’s lacrosse team’s 14 regular-season games will be televised this season, including six appearances on ESPN platforms as part of the network’s 2012 college lacrosse coverage. Highlighting the schedule is SU’s March 4 road game at Virginia, which will air live on ESPN.

In addition to its appearance on ESPN’s flagship station, Syracuse will play five times on ESPNU. The network will carry the Orange’s April 21 home date with Georgetown, as well as road games at Johns Hopkins (March 14) and Notre Dame (April 28). SU’s remaining two national television appearances are April 1 versus Duke at the Konica Minolta Big City Classic and versus Rutgers in Charlotte on April 14.

ESPN has also agreed to carry the entire inaugural BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Championship, which will take place from Thursday, May 3 to Saturday, May 5 at Villanova. ESPNU will air Thursday’s first semifinal and Saturday’s tournament championship game live. Thursday’s second semifinal will be carried live on ESPN3 and shown via tape-delay on ESPNU.

The top four teams in the BIG EAST standings advance to the conference championship tournament.

Syracuse’s five remaining home games and its road contests with Cornell (April 10) and Hobart (April 17) will air live locally on Time Warner Cable Sports (TWCS). New York City’s regional sports network, SportsNet New York (SNY), has also agreed to carry the Orange’s home games versus Albany (Feb. 19), Army (Feb. 26), Providence (March 21) and Villanova (March 25).

Currently, the only regular-season game not scheduled for television is Syracuse’s March 10 road game at St. John’s.
