Justin Turri Joins Army Lacrosse Staff



WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army head lacrosse coach Joe Alberici has added former Duke star Justin Turri as an assistant coach on the Black Knights’ coaching staff Tuesday morning. Turri helped Duke win a national title in 2010 and is currently in his third season playing in the Major League Lacrosse ranks. Turri joins assistant coach Kyle Georgalas, who enters his fourth season along the banks of the Hudson. Long-time assistant coach Mac Diange stepped down after 25 years at West Point, taking over as head coach at the USMA Prep School in late May. Read More…

I would be doing a disservice to my readers to note mention the charity auction that a few of our seniors were lucky enough to participate in on Friday night. Seniors Jimmy Queeney, Bill Manning, and Connor Brown took part in The Brothers Society charity auction, where lovely Colgate females had the opportunity to bid for a date with three of our finest seniors. Lehigh Lacrosse Wins Patriot League Opener at Army, 10-6



WEST POINT, N.Y. – Senior Brian Hess paced the offense with his second-career hat trick while sophomore Matt Poillon made 12 saves between the pipes as the #15/16 Lehigh men’s lacrosse team topped Army 10-6 in its league opener Saturday. Five Mountain Hawks (5-3, 1-0 Patriot League) finished with double-figure points, and senior Ryan Snyder was stellar at the faceoff X, to help Lehigh get off to an early lead which it wouldn’t relinquish. CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Junior lacrosse player Brendan Buckley (Massapequa, N.Y.) has been named the 2011-12 Patriot League Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year, it was announced Thursday afternoon. This honor comes on the heels of Buckley being named a first team Capital One Academic All-America selection and the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year earlier this spring. HAMILTON, N.Y. – For the first time in school history, the Lehigh men’s lacrosse team advanced to the Patriot League Championship Game as the #8 Mountain Hawks (13-2) downed #19 Army (7-7), 13-7, Friday night at Andy Kerr Stadium. Colgate to Host Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Tournament



CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – For the second straight season, hosting responsibilities for the Patriot League Men’s Lacrosse Tournament came down to the final contest of the season between Bucknell and Colgate. A year ago, Bucknell went into Hamilton, N.Y., and picked up a victory on the road to clinch the tournament’s top seed and hosting responsibilities. The Raiders paid that back Friday night. Army Lacrosse Attendance Climbs To Record Highs

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Due in large part to drawing a Michie Stadium record crowd of 10,192 for last Saturday’s lacrosse game, Army’s historic program continues to climb the national ranks when it comes to attendance figures.
