University of Maryland and ACC Reach Legal Agreement

COLLEGE PARK, MD – The University of Maryland and the Atlantic Coast Conference announced today they have reached a mediated agreement that ends all litigation between both parties. Maryland has agreed that the ACC will keep the sum of $31,361,788 previously withheld in order to resolve the lawsuits, and the ACC has agreed that Maryland will have no obligation to make any other payments to the ACC. COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Big Ten Conference announced the addition of men’s and women’s lacrosse as the league's 27th and 28th sports nearly 13 months ago and on Tuesday, July 1 it is official. Maryland Joins Big Ten and What It Means For Lacrosse

After wide speculation, rumors and consideration the University of Maryland Board of Regents has approved the school to join the B1G Conference. Maryland will be leaving behind a conference it helped build in 1953. It is no doubt that rivalries and school ties will be broken with UMDs departure, but the school has been stricken with financial woes since the days of Athletic Director Debbie Yow. Big Ten Men’s Lacrosse Programs Establish Creator’s Trophy
