Durham, NC - Brown’s furious fourth quarter rally came up a goal short after a barrage of shots in the game’s final seconds as the Bears dropped a 9-8 decision to eighth-ranked Duke Tuesday afternoon at Koskinen Stedium. New Balance H710 Ivy League Collection

New Balance offers a peek into its upcoming Ivy League Collection for Spring 2011. The collection will include mid and low top versions of its H710 hiker. The shoes are inspired by the Ivy League schools, which obviously include Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Penn, Princeton, and Yale. They've taken a classic approach with an "outdoors" feel. They feature buttery suede uppers with special laurel wreath tongue branding to mimic the schools' crests. Some Thoughts on The IVY League Jerseys

The Ivy League has a deep lacrosse tradition. The league captured the first USILA championship in 1881, the first NCAA Championship in 1971 and remains one of the premiere leagues today even with the absence of athletic scholarships. As far as jerseys, there is an emphasis on the classic. Not surprisingly, some schools have remained very conservative in their attire, while others have broken the mold.
